About the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Outstanding Highway Construction Awards:
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Outstanding Highway Construction Awards program recognizes contractors and engineers who have completed outstanding projects. The awards review nominations from the five WisDOT regions in six categories. The Categories are asphalt paving, concrete paving, grading, small structures, large structures, and special recognition. The awards are presented at the Annual WTBA/WisDOT Contractor-Engineer Conference.
Projects are evaluated and voted on for quality construction, complexity, innovation, and other criteria. The project evaluations are performed by WisDOT central office and region staff. The awards program encourages high-quality workmanship and serves as an opportunity to applaud the quality of private contractors’ work, share information about highly successful projects, and reflect on best practices.
